What is the Bowie Lions Club SHARE program?

The Bowie Lions since 1990 have been one of the over 300 churches and community groups that are part of the
SHARE (Self Help And Resource Exchange) Food Network. The SHARE Food Network distributes approximately 13,500 high quality, affordable
nutritious food packages each month as a way to build community and strengthen families. Whether you would like to save money on groceries,
volunteer in the community, or promote health and wellness, it is an amazing and unique program that is open to everyone. Participants in
the SHARE program perform two hours of volunteer service and pay $20.00 monthly to purchase groceries worth approximately $40.00 - $45.00.
By combining buying power and volunteerism, SHARE is able to offer quality foods at substantial savings and pass those savings on to it's participants.
People are empowered through SHARE to stretch their family's food budget, access information on health and nutrition, and develop partnerships to prevent hunger in communities.
